Residential Chapel Conversion and New Dwellings, South Hams, Devon

We were appointed to prepare a detailed planning application for a residential development within a village on the outskirts of Dartmoor, Devon.

The proposed will create nine residential units on the site and converts the locally important former Chapel building into Apartments. The site also has a number of ancillary substandard buildings which will be replaced with a mixture of affordable open market 2 and 3 bedroom homes.

The site for some years has been used as commercial premises for an international minerals company and is now surplus to requirements.

As part of the preparation of the Planning Submission Atelier 3 Ltd co-ordinated the professional services of numerous specialist consultants including Ecologists and Viability Assessors.

The redeveloping of the site will enhance the area and prevent the chapel from falling into further disrepair. The scheme has been carefully designed and should provide high quality residential units within this rural area.
