Contemporary replacement dwelling, Porthleven

The proposal is for a modern replacement dwelling on a cliff top location within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Conservation Area of Porthleven.

We were appointed to prepare a scheme that embraced the many constraints and opportunities of the site including the spectacular views. Careful negotiations with the Local Planning and Conservation Officers were required to ensure the full support of the Local Authority.

The scheme has achieved a delegated Full Planning Approval and the project is under construction with a completion date of late summer 2011.

The proposal will be truly sustainable with integrated technologies such as rainwater harvesting, a ground source heat pump and a heat recovery system which maximises the benefits of solar gain.
