Sustainable Residential Barn Conversion Complex, Restormel

Atelier 3 Ltd have provided their client with Architectural services to obtain full residential planning consent for conversion of barns into residential units.

The scheme benefits from a variety of sustainable heating and insulation systems. To provide accurate analysis of the efficiency of the proposed conversions a draft Energy Performance Certificate was calculated by Atelier 3’s Accredited Assessor. The assessment produced an excellent Band A for the Environmental Impact (CO2) Rating. This was achieved by the use of super insulation, wood pellet boilers and solar panels.

The floor plans were designed with careful consideration as all bedrooms were designed to gain a stunning view over the Luxulyan Valley and the living areas are positioned on the 1st floor to appreciate the vaulted roof exposing the original timber trusses. Where possible original features have been retained and any additional structure has been designed using glazing and timber boarding to not detract away from the original structure.

Planning consent has been determined for 3 open market properties.
