| Residential Barn Conversion, North Hill. The existing substantial barn was partially converted in 1983 in a style that was domestic in appearance, a common approach at the time. Our proposal refreshes the over domesticated original conversion whilst providing modern, functional areas that are contemporary but sympathetic to the historic setting of the adjacent Parish Church.
The proposal embraces the original large volumes of the barn with only a small number of interventions being required to enable the proposed layout whilst preserving the integrity of the remaining historic features.
To the rear of the property a garden room has been proposed which links the lower ground floor rooms without needing further division of the original spaces. The solution is a contemporary timber extension with a Bio-diverse green roof which does not seek to mimic the existing barn but seeks to provide a complementary space which increases interaction with the garden.
Planning has been granted. | ||||
