Issue: 2 August 2010
Building on the firm
foundations laid in 2007 the Atelier 3 team are proud to be working on a
variety of schemes across a broad range of sectors, encompassing; community
projects, visitor centres, commercial developments, building conservation,
large scale residential developments and bespoke residential projects and
extensions.
We
are proud to assist the local community with projects ranging from conceptual
stages to completion.
In
August 2009 we were invited to the official opening of a new games area where
Atelier 3 worked in conjunction with Carrick District Council which is now part
of Cornwall Council to
provide a Multi Use Games Area in the Kea Parish which was funded by the Big
Lottery and community fund raising.
Currently
we are working with the Fowey Community Interest Company to assist them with
their ambition to provide a Community Centre for the historic town, which aims
to encompass a theatre, public access rooms and facilities for visiting yachts.
We are providing professional services in developing the brief and subsequent
proposals.
To
name some events in the last 2 years of Atelier 3 has seen Director Barry Tape
cycling from London to Paris in aid of Cornwall Hospice a sight none of our
clients or colleagues could believe! Director Tim Hancock featuring in a BBC One
Television programme called Britain’s Empty Homes which saw him casting a
professional eye over properties. Atelier 3 Ltd is sponsoring Director Adam
Raspison and a team of 5 Clinical Imaging staff from Royal Cornwall Hospital
Trust. The team is competing in The Great London River Race which consists of
21miles down the River Thames. The proceeds will go towards Cornwall Hospice.
The
team has worked on numerous projects ranging from domestic residential
extensions to 106 unit residential developments, rural affordable housing
developments, farm diversification and commercial/industrial projects
throughout Cornwall and Devon for many private and corporation clients which
include a Cornwall Light and Power, Cornwall Council and World Leader in
Industrial Minerals to name but a few.
We
provided a work experience placement for two students from Wadebridge
Comprehensive School during 2009 and 2010. We also provided a work experience placement
for a student from The Five Islands School in the Isles of Scilly. The
placements are usually a two week programme and consist of an insight of design
work and site visits.
Once
again we have volunteered our services to sponsor the charity Shelter through
the ‘Architect in the House’ scheme in which we are into the 3rd
year of support for this good cause. Architect in the House gives an hour-long
consultation with an RIBA chartered architect, who is giving their time in
exchange for a suggested donation of £40 to Shelter, the housing and
homelessness charity. The money will go towards Shelter's work with families in
housing need.
